Genetic and phenotypic parameters for growth traits of Sonadi sheep

The aim of present study was to estimate the genetic and phenotypic parameters for growth traits Sonadi sheep. Records lambs were collected over a period four years from unit maintained at CVAS Navania (Rajasthan) under Mega Sheep Seed Project. Traits included birth weight (BWT), three months (3MWT), six (6MWT), nine (9MWT) twelve age (12MWT). Low estimates heritability observed birth, age. Lamb moderately heritable shows that these are less influenced by environmental effects; which make them effectively transmitted progeny.
